Common Name: Eastern Sea Garfish and Southern Sea Garfish,
Species Name: Hyporhamphus australis and Hyporhamphus melanochir

Description
The Eastern Sea Garfish Hyporhamphus australis and the Southern sea garfish, Hyporhamphus melanochir are also known as Garies, Gardies, Beakies, halfbeak and dusky garfish. Garfish are a pale Bluish green above the lateral line and silvery below on the belly area. Southern sea garfish have a blue edged silver band along the middle of the sides and the Eastern sea garfish have 3 narrow brown lines along the back. They can grow to approximately 40cm in length.

Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia

Prawns, Worms, Fish Pieces, Squid, Bread and Dough.
