Appearance & Identification
These robust, streamlined salmonids are easily identified by their dark greenish-blue dorsal surface transitioning to silvery flanks covered in small, distinct black spots. They possess a highly unique, dark black mouth and gums that serve as a key identification marker compared to other trout species. Their bodies are completely covered in small, protective scales that allow them to slice cleanly through the water column at high speeds. Habitat & Movements
