Fishing Fraser Island
Fishing conditions around Fraser Island are heavily influenced by seasonal changes, tides, and wind patterns. The warmer months (September to May) are ideal for targeting pelagic species offshore, while the cooler months often see increased Tailor activity along the beaches. Tides play a crucial role, with high tides often bringing fish closer to shore. Westerly winds generally provide calmer offshore conditions, while easterly winds can create rougher seas.

- Indian Head: Fishing from the rocks at Indian Head offers opportunities to catch Tailor and other pelagic species.
- Sandy Cape: The northernmost point of Fraser Island provides excellent beach fishing for Tailor and other surf species.
- Eli Creek: The mouth of Eli Creek is a good spot for targeting Bream and Flathead.

Offshore
- Rooney Point: This offshore location is known for its reef structure and diverse fish population, including Snapper, Sweetlip, and Parrotfish.
- Eastern Banks: The Eastern Banks offer excellent opportunities for targeting pelagic species such as Tuna, Mackerel, and Wahoo.

- Hervey Bay: While technically in Hervey Bay, the waters directly west of Fraser Island offer calmer fishing for Snapper, Grassy Sweetlip, and Blackall.
