- Live Baitfish: (Mullet, Herring, Garfish, Hardiheads, and Sprats) Round Hill Creek Mouth. If you are looking to cast-net or collect baitfish, the mouth of Round Hill Creek is a prime location. During a run-out tide, schools of herring, garfish, and mullet are actively flushed out of the river, making them easy prey to gather. Poddy mullet are specifically recommended if you are targeting larger fish, while sprats are an excellent all-rounder bait.
- Middle Creek if you are exploring further north, the banks on the northern side of Middle Creek, heading towards the mouth, can sometimes be absolutely "alive with hardiheads".
- Prawns: Prawns can be reliably sourced by netting in the local estuarine systems. You can find them further upstream in Round Hill Creek where the sand flats transition into mud flats, as well as in the expansive 120-kilometre Baffle Creek system south of 1770.
