Local Bait Tips
- BLUE MUSSELS: Scraped from submerged wooden jetty pylons and rock walls at Lancelin Jetty and Cervantes Catalonia Jetty at low tide. Dislodge clusters using a heavy putty knife and collect into a bucket lined with damp kelp. Fresh crushed mussels form irresistible bait for King George Whiting, Tarwhine, and Silver Trevally.
- SHORE CRABS (ROCK CRABS): Collected by hand from limestone crevices and rock ledges along Lancelin and Cervantes breakwaters at low tide. Target small shore crabs, place them in a damp bucket with wet seaweed, and keep shaded. Rigged through the outer carapace, they represent lethal natural bait for Baldchin Groper and Black Bream.

Features an unsealed 2-lane over-beach launching area allowing 4WD vehicles and tractors to launch vessels directly into protected bay waters. Note: The nearby Lancelin Maritime Facility provides a service jetty and refueling platform for berthing, but is NOT a boat launching ramp; all vessel launching in Lancelin occurs over the beach. Facilities include vehicle parking above the beach, public restrooms, outdoor showers, and nearby tackle store. Free public access.

Located at 3 Biscay Street on the flat beach foreshore, Cervantes WA 6511. Managed by the Shire of Dandaragan and DoT WA. Features a sand launching ramp on a flat beach with an adjacent public jetty featuring a low-level landing and ramped pedestrian access. Designed to accommodate small to mid-sized craft up to 50 tonnes and single-unit trucks. Facilities include fresh water, lighting, single-phase and 3-phase electrical power, sealed parking, public toilets, and fueling facilities (restricted to Comen card holders). Free public access.
