Boat Ramps
- Rye Boat Ramp:
Rye Boat Ramp is located off Point Nepean Road at the Jetty Launching Ramp in Rye, southern Port Phillip Bay. The facility features a three-lane concrete launching ramp serviced by boarding jetties on either side, including a western timber jetty that received major structural repairs. The approach channel is highly prone to severe coastal shoaling, triggering marine safety warnings regarding reduced channel depths, and is fully exposed to strong northerly winds which push a heavy chop straight onto the slabs. Landside facilities include limited parking spaces, public toilets, lighting, and 12 casual public berths installed at Rye Pier to reduce seasonal congestion, with free launching and parking.
